As we approach launch, the focus is on creating an amazing product that resonates, engages and ignites our audiences.


Role Overview: We are looking for a skilled Embedded Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance the software for our AI-powered cat door.

This role involves working on embedded systems, initially in Python and later in C or C++, to ensure seamless functionality and continuous updates of our product.


Key Responsibilities:
1.System Development and Programming: Design and develop software for embedded devices, starting with Python and transitioning to C/C++ for system optimization.

Ensure the software is efficient, scalable, and meets the high-performance needs of the world’s most intelligent cat door.


2.Continuous Software Enhancement: Regularly update and refine the embedded software to incorporate new features, improve performance, and address any emerging issues.

Take ownership of the software lifecycle, ensuring continuous improvement.


3.Unit Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and implement robust unit testing frameworks.

Ensure the quality and reliability of the software through comprehensive testing and QA practices.


4.Version Control Management: Utilize Git for version control, ensuring effective team collaboration and code integrity.

Manage code repositories and contribute to version control best practices.


5.Computer Vision Integration: Work on integrating computer vision capabilities into the device (experience in this area is a plus).

Collaborate with our AI specialists to ensure seamless implementation of these features.


6.Bluetooth Connectivity: Develop and maintain Bluetooth functionality for interaction between the cat door and the app.


7.Software Update and Build Systems: Familiarity with software update mechanisms like SWUpdate and Hawkbit, and build systems like Yocto and Buildroot, to manage and deploy software updates efficiently is nice to have.

Framework for updating is already finished.


8.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other engineering teams, including AI, backend, and front-end developers, to ensure integrated and cohesive system functionality.


9.Technical Leadership: Take full responsibility for embedded software projects, demonstrating initiative, leadership, and accountability in all tasks.

Guide the project from conception to deployment, proactively addressing challenges.


10.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the software development process.

Provide regular updates and reports on project progress and milestones.


11.Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues in the embedded system.

Employ a methodical and analytical approach to problem-solving.


12.Technical Skill Enhancement: Stay updated with the latest trends in embedded systems, programming languages, and IoT technologies, and apply this knowledge to ongoing and future projects.



Requirements:
•Proven experience as an Embedded Engineer or similar role (3+ years preferred).


•Proficiency in embedded programming languages, particularly Python, C, and C++.


•Strong experience with unit testing and software quality assurance.


•Knowledge of Git or similar version control systems.


•Strong understanding of embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.


•Self-motivated Team Player with excellent communication skills, fluency in English (written and verbal).


•Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


•Demonstrated ability to work independently.


•Must love cats! 😻

Nice to Have:
•Experience in computer vision technology.


•Familiarity with Bluetooth technology.


•Knowledge of SWUpdate, Hawkbit, Yocto, and Buildroot.
