**Purpose**



Contributes to the overall success of the Global Systems Operations Centre in Toronto, Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.



**Accountabilities**



• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

• Reporting to a Team Lead or Senior Manager, Global Systems Operations, you are a part of a team that’s responsible for the consistent delivery and completion of Canadian banking & International Production batches processing and services and infrastructure monitoring.

This include maintaining service to 1000+ domestic branches & 3000+ International branches.

We process 65,000+ jobs daily across 200+ applications in 55+ countries.

You will be expected to be a part of the teams’ rotational on call duties and, when required, be a part of after-hours project deployments in the evenings or weekends.

• You are required to have an in-depth and extensive working knowledge of workload automation.

Tools may include CA7 Scheduler, Autosys, etc.…

• You can demonstrate working knowledge with Endevor, Data Management, Problem and Change Management, TSO, JCL, ServiceNow platforms and Pager Duty (Event Management, Incident management, Knowledge)

• You possess working knowledge of monitoring tools that feed into the Global Systems Operations Centre i.e.: Dynatrace, Splunk, AQA-STM, GEMS, etc.…

• Working knowledge of IMS, CICS are strongly recommended, DB2, and VSAM are optional.

• You can demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and adapt to change.

• Must be flexible to adapt to a dynamic environment, balance simultaneous priorities and make quick and sound decisions under pressure.

• Having participated in projects alone or as a team and delivered significant results.

• Hands-on technical working experience with planning, managing, and executing on IT projects and initiatives.

• You have the ability to adapt to change in process/procedure to accommodate our customers while focusing on risk mitigation and customer service.

• You have excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple problems from simple to complex concurrently.

• You can focus on timelines and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) to ensure they are achieved while working in an operations environment where potentially multiple issues are occurring.

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or in a related field.

• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

**Dimensions**



• GSOC 24x7 Operations - unique area which spans the bridge between development/project support and providing production services.

The key elements of the area focus upon the development and maintenance of operational aids such as output management, code control, and automation of application balancing as well as environment builds and application testing and are seen as key to the continued success and achievement for both batch and online availability targets.

**Education / Experience / Other Information**



• You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience in an IT operations-based environment.

• Demonstrate strong leadership abilities.

• You have excellent verbal & written communication skills in English to ensure incidents/problems are understood and documented accordingly.

The same in Spanish is an asset.
