What You Will Do
This position reports into Tech Ops Process Manager and is based in Cali, Colombia
What Will You Do
The Technical Operation Process Scientist is responsible for the excellence execution of Strategic Projects (new technology introduction, network optimization, new products introduction, capacity increase and digitization), Base Business initiatives (INV/CAPA, troubleshooting, Rapid Response/Business Continuity), and Life Cycle Management Projects (technology transfers, cost reduction, efficiency and productivity improvement).
This individual works closely with the cross-functional Supply Chain and R&D teams, to develop new manufacturing processes for different projects, triage products' issues during manufacturing, assess risks and implement proactive solutions to ensure high standards of quality, compliance, and reliability are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Execute Tech Ops Process Science and Validation activities to support the implementation of: Innovation / Renovation Projects, Base Business, Life Cycle Management & Plant Execution, leveraging technical expertise and data-driven insights with moderate supervision.
- Support all technical activities including design of experiments, statistical data analysis, product/ process assessment, pilot and/or trial execution, development planning and preparation of technical documentation (e.g specifications and standard procedures etc).
- Partner with Manufacturing to deliver technical process solutions that enhance efficiency (OEE), increase capacity, and support sustainability initiatives ensuring reliable, agile and optimized operations thorough benchmarking and investigation.
- Supports Quality, Manufacturing, Safety, Regulatory an all-related Supply Chain team in Compliance with audits, investigations, escalations, CAPAs, Rapid Response Teams, crisis management and troubleshooting.
- Participate in safety evaluations, assessments, and initial start-up of new equipment sharing knowledge of formulas, process and equipment.
- Prepare technical protocols and reports to support troubleshooting project implementation.
- Develop technical risk analyses and justifications for process, filling, cleaning & sanitization validation strategies.
Qualifications
What we are looking for
Required
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, preferably, Pharmacy, Chemistry or correlated areas is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the consumer industry.
- B2, fluent conversation English is required.
- Must be a critical thinker with problem solving skills.
- Demonstrate a big sense of urgency, resilience and ability to administrate conflicts.
- Ability to manage complexity and to work collaboratively with critical stakeholders at local and regional levels.
- Good communication, organizational, interpersonal and influencing skills.
Desired
- General knowledge of scientific principles for liquid/semi-solid formulation development (i.e., solution, suspension, semi-solid).
- General understanding of the process equipment and in-process control instruments.
- General process knowledge in a few of the processes such as Mixing, Filling, Liquid dosage, Liquid Filling, Scale-up, Technology Transfer, Process Development, as applicable.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Project software.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, listening, negotiating and decision-making skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with and influence leadership.
- Basic project management skills.
