Core Responsibilities:

• Lead Technical Design and Development:

You'll be the technical backbone for the platform team.

This means you will not only design and develop high-complexity software solutions but also guide and oversee the team's work.

You'll lead the creation of conceptual designs and architecture for our platform's microservices, ensuring they are scalable, robust, and aligned with business goals.
- Mentor and Coach the Team:

As a leader, you'll provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to senior, mid-level, and junior engineers.

You'll conduct code reviews, enforce development standards, and help the team solve complex technical challenges.
- Drive Strategic Initiatives:

You will be a key contributor to our platform's future.

This includes making critical decisions on source code management, leading technical discussions, and contributing to the overall technical roadmap for a microservices platform built on
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

.
- Ensure Operational Excellence:

You'll be responsible for the health and stability of our platform.

This involves debugging and resolving complex software bugs, proactively identifying root causes, and ensuring fixes are deployed without collateral damage.

You'll also champion best practices for writing automated unit and integration tests.
- Collaborate and Communicate:

You will be the primary technical liaison for the team, effectively communicating complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your ability to work effectively and independently in a remote team is crucial.

Must Have Requirements:

• Experience & Education:

A
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science

or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

You must have
10+ years of total software development experience

, with a minimum of
6 years in a hands-on capacity

.

Your track record should include at least
4 years of product and domain experience

and a minimum of
4 years in a technical leadership role

(e.g., Tech Lead, Senior Engineer, or Architect).
- Technical Mastery:

You must be an expert in building microservices deployed to
Kubernetes

, with deep, practical experience on
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

.

Your expertise with
NestJS

and
TypeScript

(2 years minimum) should be a cornerstone of your skillset.

We also require a strong command of distributed systems, including practical experience with
CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation)

and
event sourcing patterns

.
- Database & Architecture:

You must have extensive experience with
Azure Cosmos DB

or similar distributed NoSQL databases, understanding how to manage and optimize them for high-scale microservices.

Your knowledge of microservices and event-driven design architectures must be at an expert level.
- Leadership & Influence:

This isn't just a coding role; it's a leadership role.

You must be able to lead and mentor a team, manage deadlines effectively, and operate independently with minimal guidance.

Your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively is vital.
- Remote Work & Communication:

You will be a key part of a remote team.

You must have a solid and reliable internet connection suitable for consistent video calls and collaborative work.

Your communication skills should be strong, with a
Conversational English fluency level (B1 CEFR equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloud and Automation:

We highly value experience with infrastructure automation using
Terraform

and cloud operations within Azure.

Familiarity with
infrastructure as code practices

is a strong plus.
- Advanced Kubernetes:

While core Kubernetes knowledge is required, we prefer candidates who have experience with more advanced concepts, such as custom resource definitions (CRDs), operators, or service meshes.
- Domain Expertise:

An understanding of how the Duck Creek Suite operates and its various applications is a plus, as it will help you integrate quickly into our platform team.
