Staff Database Engineer (AWS) – Latin America 
 We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Database Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and management of complex, multi-cloud data infrastructure.
 Accountabilities 
  - Architect, implement, and manage scalable and high-performance data pipelines using AWS Glue, Step Functions, Lambda, and Azure Data Factory 
  - Design and maintain global data infrastructure across regions, ensuring low latency, high availability, and compliance with international standards 
  - Oversee core databases and warehouses including Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, and MongoDB 
  - Lead data migrations between cloud platforms and legacy systems with minimal downtime while ensuring data integrity 
  - Define best practices for indexing, partitioning, sharding, and query optimization to support high-throughput workloads 
  - Implement observability frameworks using CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog, and dashboards for monitoring and alerting 
  - Orchestrate transformations with tools like DBT or Coalesce, maintaining strong data lineage, validation, and governance 
  - Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Analytics teams to deliver secure, reliable, and cost-efficient data solutions 
  - Mentor engineers on database performance, automation, and best practices for data reliability 
  - Drive automation and operational excellence via infrastructure-as-code, CLI tools, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines 
   
 Requirements 
  - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 
  - 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Database Engineer, or Cloud Data Architect 
  - Proven hands‑on expertise with AWS services, particularly Glue, Step Functions, and Lambda 
  - Strong programming skills in Python and SQL for workflow development and optimization 
  - Experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines 
  - Hands‑on experience with at least two database systems among Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, or MongoDB 
  - Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Datadog 
  - Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Functions, and Azure Monitor 
  - Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep 
  - Expertise in data migration, validation frameworks, partitioning, indexing, and sharding strategies 
  - Experience with data transformation tools such as DBT or Coalesce 
  - Proven mentoring and leadership skills for guiding engineers 
  - Strong English communication skills for collaboration with US clients and teams
