We have built a small business toolkit that has Generative AI at its core, and to help us scale this success, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineering Manager .

This is a pivotal role that blends people leadership, project management, and hands‑on technical contribution.

You will guide up to two agile teams in delivering high‑quality, full‑stack features from concept to deployment for our core product: a multi‑platform Flutter app available on iOS, Android, and the Web.

We need a leader who can maintain our high engineering standards while we build fast, learn, and iterate.

The Impact You’ll Have

• Team Leadership: Directly manage and mentor up to two agile teams of 6 to 8 engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
  
  
• Agile Process Management: Oversee the team’s adherence to agile methodologies (Kanban), ensuring efficient refinement, estimating, execution, and delivery.
  
  
• Startup Execution: Leverage your experience in a startup setting to prioritize effectively, manage ambiguity, and drive rapid development cycles with a focus on product‑market fit and business value.
  
  
• Hiring & Development: Participate in recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and performance reviews for your team members.
  
  
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management, Design, and QA to translate product vision into precise technical requirements and realistic execution plans.
  
  

Technical & Hands‑On Contribution (40%)

• Technical Oversight & Design: Provide leadership on system architecture, solution design, and technology choices for both mobile and web platforms.
  
  
• Coding & Prototyping: Remain hands‑on by contributing code to critical features or technical spikes.
  
  
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough code reviews and design reviews to ensure quality, performance, security, and scalability standards are met.
  
  
• Roadmap Execution: Ensure the team delivers features that are reliable, performant, and maintainable across the entire stack.
  
  

What We Really Need From You

• 3–5 years of experience directly managing and leading software engineering teams in an agile environment.
  
  
• 5+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience across the full development lifecycle.
  
  
• Proven experience managing teams and shipping products within a startup or high‑growth company where rapid iteration is essential.
  
  
• Must be comfortable being hands‑on (coding, code reviews, architectural design) to maintain technical credibility and a deep understanding of the product.
  
  
• Front‑end/Web: Experience with Flutter web or web frameworks, such as Vue.js, is ideal.
  
  
• Mobile: Experience with the Flutter ecosystem is preferred.
  
  However, we will also consider any native experience.
  
  
• Languages: Proficiency in Dart, Typescript, and SQL.
  
  
• Database: Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
  
  
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
