**Purpose**
We are seeking continuous learners with a passion for innovation and a drive to enhance capital markets products and analytics platforms.
This role is ideal for individuals with a strong technical and engineering mindset who thrive in collaborative environments.
As a key contributor, you will work closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams to design and deliver market-leading solutions within ScotiaGBS.
**Accountabilities**
+ Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
+ Cloud Architecture and Development:
+ Develop, and implement cloud-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support real-time fraud detection and prevention applications.
+ Data Management:
+ Oversee the ingestion, storage, and processing of large datasets, ensuring data integrity and security.
+ Performance Optimization:
+ Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, including managing dataflow jobs and reducing system lag.
+ Security and Compliance:
+ Ensure all cloud solutions comply with industry standards and regulations, including PCI compliance for data tokenization and encryption.
+ Collaboration and Communication:
+ Work closely with cross-functional teams, including fraud analytics, IT, and cybersecurity, to deliver high-quality solutions.
+ Collaborate with other functional and delivery teams to research and design the best solution for the different business requirements.
+ Incident Management:
+ Respond to and resolve cloud-related incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on operations..
+ Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporate into in day-to-day activities and decisions.
+ Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

**Education / Experience / Other Information**
+ **General Qualification:**
+ Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, experience reading, writing, and running SQL scripts
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or relevant experience.
+ Soft Skills
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
+ Work as a contributing member of a team.
+ Values quality, while still managing expectations and deliverables.
+ Open to ideas and gives and receives feedback well.
+ Wants to understand financial market.
**Experience:**
+ Experience with Java, Springboot
+ Experience with CI/CD tools
+ Experience with Scans is a plus
+ 2+ years’ experience developing, deploying, and maintaining applications **Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Certifications:
+ Relevant cloud certifications such as Google Cloud Developer.
+ Industry Knowledge:
+ Familiarity with fraud detection and prevention systems and technologies.
+ Apache Flink knowledge
**Working Conditions**
Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
