Software Development Engineer - Fullstack
The Software Development Engineer - Fullstack contributes in all areas of development as a member of an Agile Scrum team.
Team members will have areas of strength and some level of specialization, but must be adept at learning tools and languages that enable them to participate in all areas of product development.
Being adaptable and knowledgeable in multiple domains allows team members to swarm or fill gaps in order to meet commitments.
Job Responsibilities
- Establishes direction and provides guidance to other team members while consistently delivering on commitments
- Engages beyond the team to accomplish objectives, influencing and collaborating with other teams within the organization, and working directly with external partners
- Demonstrates mastery of software development practices performed by Scrum teams
- Develops product features for any of the following: data marketplaces, mobile applications, web applications, and API services
- Provides technology leadership and promotes team learning throughout the product development lifecycle
- Leads the adoption of and migration to the public cloud within the team as appropriate
- Understands cloud technologies and how best to employ them; assists other team members in accelerating implementation
- Builds, tests, and deploys software using automated pipelines; continuously improves the quality and speed of these pipelines
- Plays a key role in the design and implementation of the pipelines
- Leverages test automation and peer reviews to increase product quality
- As a technology leader, coaches the team to achieve full participation and high-quality reviews
- Maintains a production-first mindset focused on scalability, uptime, and the team’s ability to rapidly triage and resolve production issues
- Invests in Agile practices to continuously improve product quality, time to market, and team member satisfaction
Job Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills
- Expertise in software development using one or more high-level programming languages
- Ability to transition easily between products due to developed language agility
- Advocates for modern software development patterns and practices that emphasize simplicity, clarity, reusability, and security
- Expertise in optimizing data architecture, database queries, and indexes to deliver scalable and high-performing products and services
- Ability to implement features across mobile, web, and API service layers, as applicable to the product team
- Proficient in designing, building, and optimizing automated pipelines, including automated testing and security controls
- Experience working in Agile Scrum teams with a proven record of leading continuous improvement initiatives
- Brings passion and enthusiasm to the team; leads by example
- Champions and executes cross-team strategies that deliver measurable business value
- Demonstrates deep expertise in software languages, architecture, and design; widely recognized as a subject-matter expert
- Drives impact through collaboration and influence beyond individual contributions
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated expertise in the following technologies (as required by the product scope):
Low-Code Platforms: Logic Apps, OutSystems
Enterprise Service Bus: TIBCO BusinessWorks (APIs and integration workflows)
Code Scanning: SonarQube, Checkmarx
High-Level Programming Languages: Java, C# (.NET MVC and .NET Core), Go
Scripting: PowerShell, Bash
Test Automation: Xamarin.UITest, SecFlow, DevTest, Selenium, Test Data Manager, Postman, Maven, TestNG, JMeter
Work Experience
- 4–6 years of software development experience required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field preferred (or equivalent experience)
