We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Support Engineer with expertise in Linux and Managed File Transfer (MFT) systems, specifically CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway.
In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our MFT platform migration, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable file transmission services across our business units.
Responsibilities
- Configure and set up CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway to enable file transmission capabilities
- Design automated workflows for MFT using shell and Perl programming
- Configure and manage Connect:Direct and file agent scripts for automated file transfers
- Collaborate with network, firewall, and system administrators to resolve connectivity issues involving TCP/IP and FTP/SFTP
- Gather and analyze transmission requirements by interacting with business stakeholders to design tailored solutions
- Provide 24x7 support for file transmission systems, including on-call rotations and maintaining after-hours availability for scheduled maintenance
- Mentor team members and adhere to established engineering processes
- Accept guidance from project leads, with the capability to step into a lead role when necessary
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway in operational environments
- 3+ years of Unix/Linux application support and programming skills utilizing Bash/Korn Shell and Perl
- 3+ years of expertise in file transmission protocols including SFTP/SSH, FTPS/SSL, HTTPS, and PGP/GPG
- Background in TCP/IP connectivity setups, troubleshooting, and MFT workflow creation
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects under strict deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal communication and documentation capabilities
Nice to have
- Background in IBM Sterling Connect:Direct
- Programming knowledge of C and Java
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and GCS Bucket storage
- Understanding of cloud architecture principles
