Job Description
Rockwell Automation is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join our dynamic technology team.
As a lead engineer, you'll play a critical role in developing and scaling automation and orchestration capabilities to accelerate business-to-IT delivery across our global technology stack.
You will report to the Senior IT Manager located in USA and your role will be fully remote, working anywhere in the Poland.
Your Responsibilities:
o Lead the shift to a foundational-first approach by defining and standardizing configuration baselines for each device type and region, engaging with stakeholders for alignment and adoption.
o Oversee the audit and discovery of existing device configurations, identify technical debt and compliance gaps, and drive the remediation of high-risk or non-standard assets.
o Develop, maintain, and evolve reusable automation templates and playbooks (e.g., Ansible, NetBox, Terraform) to enable zero-touch provisioning and lifecycle management across infrastructure platforms.
o Integrate approved configuration standards into automated provisioning workflows, ensuring new devices and refresh cycles are compliant and scalable.
o Architect and automate compliance validation and drift detection mechanisms within provisioning pipelines, enabling real-time monitoring and rapid remediation.
o Implement configuration management features including version control, rollback workflows, SNMP hardening, secure management protocol enforcement, and rationalized NTP/interface/VLAN governance.
Champion continuous improvement by reviewing and updating baselines and automation frameworks as technology and business requirements
o Architect and optimize build, test, and deployment pipelines for both cloud and on-premises infrastructure, focusing on reliability, efficiency, and security.
o Develop and curate advanced toolkits for configuration management, system provisioning, and environment monitoring using industry-standard tools.
o Serve as an internal consultant and mentor, championing automation best practices and fostering knowledge sharing across IT teams.
o Collaborate with development, QA, operations, and business partners to align automation initiatives with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and operational metrics.
o Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives for automation and configuration management.
o Own documentation for automation architectures, processes, and infrastructure workflows, ensuring transparency, compliance, and smooth knowledge transfer.
o Present technical recommendations and updates to senior stakeholders, contributing to policy and standards frameworks.
