Key Responsibilities:
The candidate must have a proven track record of successfully handling the following responsibilities in past roles:
- Test Strategy & Execution:
Design, develop, and execute
manual and automated test cases
to validate functional requirements across different platforms.
- Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with
developers, product managers, and business analysts
to understand requirements and define effective testing strategies.
- Functional & Regression Testing:
Perform
functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing
to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Defect Management:
Identify, document, and track defects using industry-standard tools, ensuring timely resolution with development teams.
- Test Planning & Documentation:
Establish and maintain
detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts
for existing and new features.
- Root Cause Analysis:
Conduct thorough
root cause analysis
on defects and advocate for preventive measures during early development stages.
- Shift-Left Testing Approach:
Promote
shift-left testing
by embedding quality assurance earlier in the software development lifecycle.
- QA Process Improvement:
Define and improve
QA best practices
, processes, and documentation to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Mentorship & Leadership:
Provide
mentorship and guidance
to junior QA engineers, sharing best practices and technical insights.
- Test Automation Collaboration:
Work closely with automation engineers to enhance automated test coverage and reduce manual efforts.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have
strong prior experience showcasing hands-on expertise
in the following areas:
- 5+ years of experience in functional software testing within an Agile environment, with a strong focus on backend and API validation.
- Deep understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), test case design, and defect tracking in complex enterprise environments.
- Proven ability to analyze business and technical requirements, translating them into backend/API test strategies, and following stories from analysis through implementation.
- Hands-on experience testing
APIs and backend services
(REST, JSON) using tools such as
Postman.
- SQL proficiency for
data validation and integrity checks
in relational databases (e.g., MySQL).
- Familiarity with
AWS fundamentals
(understanding core services and how they work in testing environments).
- Basic knowledge of
Docker environments
, with ability to navigate containerized setups.
- Experience working in
CI/CD pipelines
, understanding QA's integration within DevOps workflows.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in
advanced English
, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with
test automation frameworks
such as
Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium

basic level,
focused on understanding automation processes rather than building frameworks.
- Experience with
microservices and API-driven architectures
, with strong understanding of service interactions and testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with
cloud-based testing environments
(AWS, Azure, or GCP) and ability to support debugging in these contexts.
- Knowledge of
performance and load testing tools
(e.g., JMeter, Gatling) is a plus.
- Basic experience with
scripting languages
(Python, JavaScript, or Bash) for workflow optimization is a plus.
