What you will be doing: We are seeking a Senior Full Stack (focused on Front-End) with proven expertise in front-end development to join our engineering team.

This pivotal role focuses on significantly impacting our brands by delivering top-tier user-facing digital experiences.

The successful candidate will be responsible for re-architecting front-end applications, enhancing performance, and ensuring seamless integration with third-party services using REST APIs. In addition to improving CMS workflows, the role also involves close collaboration with Design and Product teams to create optimal user flows.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and build features for front-end applications, ensuring high-quality digital experiences.
  
  
• Write, test, debug, and deploy code using TypeScript, JavaScript/Node.js, and React, emphasizing advanced expertise in these technologies.
  
  
• Optimize application performance by focusing on Google’s Core Web Vitals metrics, including page load times and CDN caching strategies with Fastly.
  
  
• Integrate with third-party APIs, particularly RESTful services, to support functionalities like paywalls, subscriptions, and data reporting.
  
  
• Enhance content publishing workflows within WordPress-VIP, contributing to improved editorial processes.
  
  
• Embed security best practices in all coding activities, maintaining a security-focused mindset.
  
  
• Work collaboratively with Design and Product teams to refine user flows and define optimal solutions.
  
  
• Lead initiatives to improve workflows and development practices, influencing engineering culture positively.
  
  
• Mentor team members through pairing sessions, design reviews, and code evaluations to foster skill growth among colleagues.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of professional experience with modern web frameworks in the media space.
  
  
• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript/Node.js for building and re-architecting complex applications.
  
  
• Advanced expertise in React for developing components, state management, and library integration.
  
  
• Intermediate practical knowledge of CI/CD processes, particularly using GitHub Actions.
  
  
• Sound understanding of AWS services such as ECS, EC2, and ALBs for deployments.
  
  
• Proficient use of module loaders like Webpack, Parcel, and Vite.
  
  
• Knowledge of security best practices and a focus on maintaining high security standards.
  
  
• Experience with CDNs, specifically Fastly, for edge caching and optimizing performance.
  
  
• Familiarity with REST APIs and integration within Node/React frameworks.
  
  
• Solid understanding of automated testing frameworks.
  
  
• Intermediate experience with WordPress, specifically within a WordPress-VIP environment to enhance CMS workflows.
  
  
• Obsessive focus on front-end performance improvements using techniques under Google’s Core Web Vitals.
  
  
• A growth mindset with a willingness to engage in constructive debates and collaborative design development.

• Experience with GraphQL for enhanced API interactions.
  
  
• Familiarity with serverless computing and AWS Lambda for scalable solutions.
  
  
• Certification in AWS or Google Cloud Platform, demonstrating cloud expertise.
