Responsibilities

• The primary responsibility of the Senior Engineer, Managed Services is to remotely provide support for server and storage equipment located at customer sites.
  
  You will work in the server environment.
  
  You will have self-initiative, ownership, a desire to follow issues to resolution, commercial sensitivity, responsiveness, collaboration, and technical expertise.
  
  
• Focus on remote managed services for data centers located in manufacturing facilities.
  
  Possess technical expertise for computer environments and bridge the industrial and information technology paradigms.
  
  
• Modify and maintain Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory and Directory Services, and implement performance monitoring techniques on server software and hardware.
  
  
• Support VMware products such as vCenter, ESXi versions 6.x+, HorizonView, and vSAN in a production environment.
  
  
• Provide remote troubleshooting by telephone and email to Rockwell Automation field service personnel, distributors, integrators, and customers.
  
  Work with other engineers and manage high-pressure situations.
  
  
• Investigate and verify reported product problems in software, firmware, hardware and documentation.
  
  Document the problem, coordinate with the appropriate group to resolve it, and follow up with the Rockwell Automation representative or customer when resolved.
  
  
• Document actions in appropriate systems, set expectations with customers, and follow up on action items needed to resolve customer problems.
  
  Update and author Technical Notes and other documentation to inform Rockwell Automation personnel of solutions, workarounds, and best practices.
  
  

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, computer programming, or similar.
  
  

Preferred Requirements

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
  
  
• 3 years of experience as a VMware engineer.
  
  
• Proficiency in VMware-related programs and coding languages, such as Windows Server, MS IIS, SAN/vSAN architectures.
  
  
• Knowledge of fundamentals of VMware solutions and related technologies.
  
  
• Programming languages for cloud platforms: Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell.
  
  
• Exceptional analytical and technical skills.
  
  
• Availability to resolve urgent VMware environment problems outside of business hours.
  
  
• Familiarity with network and SAN switching technologies.
  
  
• Good English reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
  
  
• Strict adherence to company standards and procedures.
  
  
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
