Senior DevOps & Cloud Architect (Remote – Contractor, Long-term)
A leading U.S.-based technology company is seeking a highly skilled
Senior DevOps & Cloud Architect
to join our growing team.
This role combines
hands-on DevOps expertise
with
strategic cloud architecture
, driving innovation and ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient multi-cloud infrastructures.
This is a
remote, long-term contractor position
(full-time dedication required) with flexible hours and a
competitive monthly compensation
, depending on experience.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement
scalable, secure, and cost-optimized multi-cloud architectures
(AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI).
- Build and manage
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
using Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Deploy, operate, and optimize
Kubernetes clusters
and containerized workloads.
- Develop and maintain
CI/CD pipelines
(Harness, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Atlantis, ArgoCD).
- Automate cloud operations with
Python, Bash, or PowerShell
.
- Implement
monitoring, observability, and incident response
practices for resilient systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Apply
security best practices
across identity management, networking, compliance, and secrets management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure
reliability, scalability, and continuous delivery
.
- Provide
technical mentorship
and contribute to
DevOps and cloud best practices
.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of experience
in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure roles.
- Proven expertise in
multi-cloud environments
(AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI).
- Strong experience with
Kubernetes (K8s)
deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on expertise with
Terraform and IaC frameworks
.
- Advanced
scripting and automation
skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Solid understanding of
cloud security principles
and compliance standards.
- Experience managing
CI/CD pipelines
and automated deployments.
- Excellent
problem-solving
and
communication
skills.
- English level:
Upper-Intermediate (B2+) or higher
.
Nice to Have
- Certifications in
AWS, Azure, GCP, or Kubernetes
(e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, CKA, CKAD).
- Familiarity with
service mesh technologies
(Istio, Linkerd).
- Experience with
hybrid infrastructures
(on-prem + cloud).
- Background in
Windows and Linux systems
.
- Prior experience leading
cloud strategy, roadmaps, or acting as product owner
.
