We are seeking a Senior Data Software Engineer to join our remote team.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in implementing innovative analytical solutions using Spark/PySpark, NoSQL, and other Big Data-related technologies, while also applying new features in Cloud solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure).

You will work closely with product and engineering teams to understand requirements and help drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Implement innovative analytical solutions using Spark/PySpark, NoSQL, and other Big Data-related technologies
• Work with product and engineering teams to understand requirements and help drive decisions
• Maintain collaboration with architects, technical leads, and key individuals within other functional groups
• Perform analysis of business problems and technical environments and use this in the implementation of quality technical solutions
• Participate in code review and test solutions to ensure they meet best practice specifications

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering experience and practice in Data Management, Data Storage, Data Visualization, Operation, and Security
• Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Java, Scala, or Kotlin
• Solid experience with SQL and strong familiarity with Big Data tools, primarily Spark/PySpark, and optionally Hadoop, Hive, and Flink
• Strong understanding of Cloud Solutions for Data environments, such as AWS (Glue, RedShift), Azure (Databricks, Data Factory, Cosmos), and GCP (BigQuery, DataProc, DataFlow)
• Good understanding of CI/CD and software development with Big Data technologies
• Experience in software development with Big Data technologies, including administration, configuration management, monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with data ingestion pipelines, Data Warehousing, and Data Lakes
• Experience with data modeling and development of scalable, available, and fault-tolerant systems
• Analytical approach to problems and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Motivated, independent, efficient, and able to work under pressure with a solid sense for setting priorities
• Familiarity with Containers and Resource Management systems like Docker, Kubernetes, and Yarn
• Experience in direct customer communications

Nice to have

• Experience with Event Streaming tools like Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis, Events Hub
• Familiarity with Orchestrator tools such as Airflow and Databricks
• Knowledge of Snowflake
