Job Purpose : We are seeking a Senior AI Automation Engineer to lead the design, delivery, and optimization of mission-critical automations for both internal and client-facing operations.
This role requires a strong technical leader who can architect robust solutions, coach local engineering talent, and align with global standards while balancing cost, reliability, and compliance in a resource-conscious environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- High proficiency in English/ Spanish (Writing, Speaking, Listening)
Training or Expertise
- 5–7 years in software engineering/automation
- 2 or more years building and deploying LLM- or AI-assisted automations in production.
- 3 or more years of experience working with US based clients
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
- End-to-End Automation Delivery: Lead discovery, design, and deployment of high-priority automations across HR, finance, operations, and client workflows.
- Systems Architecture: Build integrations with local platforms (e.g., DIAN-related services, payroll providers) and global SaaS tools.
- Engineering Standards: Establish and enforce code quality, deployment practices, observability frameworks, and data governance for PII.
- Optimization & Resiliency: Monitor and reduce cloud/API costs while designing for reliability in environments with intermittent connectivity.
- Team Leadership: Mentor mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and career development; collaborate with US-based counterparts on shared components.
- Performance Measurement: Define and track ROI and operational KPIs; deliver quarterly improvement reports to leadership.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: 5–7 years in software engineering/automation; 2+ years building and deploying LLM- or AI-assisted automations in production.
- Communication: Working English proficiency for cross-border collaboration; strong ability to communicate with stakeholders and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Python or TypeScript.
- Strong experience with APIs, integrations, SQL, and data modeling.
- Hands-on expertise with at least two of: UiPath/Power Automate, , LangChain/LlamaIndex, vector databases, or RAG pipelines.
- Soft Skills: Analytical thinker, strong problem solver, collaborative mindset, and proven ability to coach junior/mid-level engineers.
Compensation: $11' $13' COP Monthly
Office Hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST
However, as an exempt contractor, you may be required to work beyond these hours from time to time to fulfill your responsibilities as may be necessary.
