About The Role
We are looking for a Senior AEM + Front-End Engineer to join our team.
You will design and optimize high-traffic web experiences, combining AEM development with modern front-end engineering.
This role includes building AEM components, developing React front-ends, integrating APIs, and ensuring strong SEO and accessibility standards.
This is a 3 month project.
Responsibilities
- AEM Development: Build Sites experiences with editable templates, Core Components, and ClientLibs
- Implement HTL, dialogs/policies, and Sling Models/OSGi services (Java a plus)
- Share expertise and suggest improvements for AEM practices
- Front-End Delivery: Develop React components (TypeScript optional), CSS/Sass, Webpack builds
- Optimize performance to meet Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse standards
- SEO & Accessibility: Implement metadata, structured data, sitemaps, and robots.txt; ensure WCAG 2.1 AA
- API Integrations: Consume and integrate REST APIs with authentication, pagination, and retries; collaborate on API contracts and monitoring
- Quality & Collaboration: Write and maintain tests (Jest/RTL, Cypress); participate in code reviews and support design, QA, and content teams
- (Optional) Cloud & DevOps: Deploy and operate on AWS (S3, CloudFront, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch)
Core Skills
Must Have
- AEM Sites expertise: editable templates, Core Components, ClientLibs, HTL, Experience Fragments, Content Fragments
- Strong React and modern front-end skills (JS/TS, Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn, CSS/Sass)
- Performance optimization and debugging (network, memory, rendering)
- SEO implementation and accessibility practices (WCAG 2.1)
- REST API integrations with auth, error handling, and schema changes
- Solid Git workflows, CI/CD, and code reviews
Nice To Have
- Dispatcher/CDN caching knowledge
- AEM backend: Java, Sling Models, OSGi services, AEM as a Cloud Service
- Python
- Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation/Terraform) AWS experience (S3, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch + ECS/Fargate/Lambda)
Communication & Collaboration
- Effective team collaboration within Agile methodologies, engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Clear communication with product and technical teams to define deliverables and project scope
- Proven experience with AEM projects, creating new components and integrating with external APIs
- Active participation in release planning, bug fixing, and feature development cycles
