Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the customs clearance department, international sea/air freight, and domestic transportation in Colombia to ensure that goods arrive at the warehouse or distribution center on time.
- Monitor the status of logistics transportation, handle abnormal situations such as delays and cargo damage, and negotiate claims with freight forwarders and insurance companies.
- Optimize logistics routes and transportation methods to reduce transportation costs and improve efficiency.
- Manage local logistics suppliers and evaluate their service quality and costs.
- Maintain logistics data (such as transportation timeliness and cost analysis) and submit operational reports regularly.
- Work closely with the procurement, warehousing, and sales teams to ensure seamless connection of all links in the supply chain.
- Support the finance department in completing logistics expense verification and cost optimization analysis.
- Contact local suppliers to arrange online and offline shipment, ensuring logistics timeliness.
- Organize and record logistics ledgers to display transportation data and costs in real time.
- Timely obtain logistics bills to verify details and complete payments within the billing period to prevent overdue payments.
- Be responsible for the creation process of customer order SO in the system and follow up on approvals; shipment cannot be arranged until the process is completed.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or higher; majors in international trade, logistics management, supply chain, or related fields are preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in international logistics is preferred.
- Experience in customs clearance/logistics for home appliances, electronic products, or bulk commodities is preferred.
- Familiarity with Colombia’s logistics and customs clearance environment, with relevant resources, is a plus.
- Fluency in Spanish, capable of independently handling communication with customs and logistics parties.
- English is not mandatory, but fluency is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP) for logistics/customs clearance cost analysis.
- Meticulous and patient, able to efficiently handle complex documents and data.
- Strong pressure resistance, able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customs, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
