Overview

On behalf of our client in the gaming and entertainment industry, Affinity is seeking an Automation Lead to join a world-class development studio in Bogotá, Colombia.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to some of the industry’s most iconic franchises and help shape the future of testing and development tools.

As an Automation Lead, you will be a key player in driving automation strategy, collaborating with internal and external teams, and mentoring others in automation best practices across the company.

This is a hands-on leadership role (70% execution, 30% mentoring) and you’ll own small- to medium-scale automation initiatives end-to-end and help enhance the quality and efficiency of development pipelines.

This role requires strong technical and leadership capabilities, as well as a passion for delivering exceptional gameplay experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute automation strategies with end-to-end ownership of initiatives.

  • Guide teams on identifying, implementing, and scaling automation across QA and development.

  • Propose new tools, workflows, or features to optimize long-term quality and efficiency.

  • Support peers in learning and adopting automation practices.

  • Gather and synthesize data from multiple sources to identify trends and risks.

  • Use metrics and telemetry to drive decision-making and improve QA service delivery.

  • Apply advanced testing methodologies (e.g., risk-based, AI/data-driven testing) to maximize coverage and impact.

  • Promote upstream issue detection and defect prevention via development tools and data insights.

  • Act as a key liaison between QA and development teams.

  • Represent QA in cross-functional meetings, ensuring quality is embedded early.

  • Provide detailed technical and strategic feedback to support continuous improvement.

  • Mentor QA engineers and automation specialists in tool adoption and automation strategy.

  • Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives and process enhancements across the broader team.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in test automation with a strong foundation in scenario scripting and node-based workflows.

  • 4+ years in QA leadership or team management roles.

  • Experience guiding team adoption of automation tools and identifying automation opportunities.

  • Proficient with tools like JIRA and TestRail.

  • Demonstrated ability to design QA strategies focused on early involvement, defect prevention, and continuous improvement.

  • Skilled in using data/telemetry to guide testing impact and outcomes.

  • Knowledge of system architecture, development risks, and modern QA frameworks.

  • English level: B2+ (spoken and written).

Preferred

  • Experience applying AI/ML to increase automation efficiency and coverage.

  • Familiarity with game development pipelines and tech-enhanced testing approaches.

Additional Details

  • Work Model: Onsite in Bogotá (Salitre area)
  • Hours: Monday–Friday (8:00 PM–5:00 PM)
  • Compensation: Competitive salary of 20M/month COP (+ legal night shift premium of 35% after 9:00 PM) plus benefits, including medical, dental, and life insurance, meal allowances, and professional development programs.

  • Transportation: Shuttle service provided at end of shift
