As an individual contributor, uses professional judgment to independently lead and complete assigned engineering designs.
Actively assists the Project Manager or acts as one, assigning tasks and schedules to project engineers and team members, responding to questions, and monitoring progress.
Verifies the accuracy (formal and informal QA/QC) of tasks completed by other technical or engineering staff members.
Makes key design decisions that meet external client needs, coordinating the impact of such decisions on related project efforts.
Proactively identifies technical, schedule, or financial issues and seeks resolution with the Project Manager and/or client, as appropriate.
Recommends and prepares change orders.
Participates in the preparation of engineering service proposals, including calculating or estimating the time and cost of proposed work.
Serves as a technical expert on assigned projects when working individually, and as a Project Manager on smaller or specialized projects, as assigned.
At least five years of experience in civil design/engineering.
Intermediate or advanced level in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering automation tools (Revit, BIM 360).
Ability to properly operate technical analysis equipment and computer systems.
Strong oral and written technical communication skills, with the ability to read technical literature and engineering drawings.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, applying professional knowledge to both routine and non-routine tasks.
Expected to develop project financial management skills through assigned work and project management functions.
Must demonstrate maturity, professionalism, and willingness to address internal and external client issues.
Ability to communicate effectively in both directions to work with internal teams and external clients.
