Position Summary
As a Product Manager , you will join the Software Product Management Team that has responsibility for FactoryTalk Design Studio and work with fellow product managers, engineering, user research, and field sales teams to evolve the product and platform.
You will work on important product management problems and grow into an end-to-end product leader.
Our Product Management team provides the vision, execution, and analysis necessary to delight customers with world class experiences on our automation software.
You will report to the Business Manager, FactoryTalk Design Studio and have a hybrid schedule.
You have a background in developing/commissioning/supporting automation applications, the ability to define requirements that address users’ needs, and experience designing and shipping customer-facing products.
This is a position for someone who demonstrates a bias-for-action, enjoys a creative environment, and a track record of on-time delivery of large-scale projects.
Your Responsibilities
- Define clear problem and market opportunity statements that lead to product features and capabilities with emphasis on delivering measurable customer usability, productivity benefits, and value following our strategy.
- Gather and document customer/market requirements from different user types and global regions, balancing longer-term projects with bugs and customer requests to maximize value.
- Manage requirements through an Agile development process and recommend appropriate trade-offs with engineering resources based on priority management.
- Emphasize teamwork with platform leaders, fellow product managers, and businesses to deliver the best and easiest-to-use integrated system solution possible.
- Identify opportunities for innovation within the product line and ensure the delivered product creates market difference and stronger attachment to the portfolio.
- Champion product-line improvement while contributing to the company’s intellectual property portfolio, acting as an expert.
- Engage with customer feedback, follow up to define issues, and collaborate with multiple teams and peer departments to resolve them.
- Represent the business during development as functional requirements are turned into a software feature, function, or product available to the market.
- Be recognized by management and peers as an advisor on issues beyond assigned product lines and current practices, with understanding of Rockwell Automation technologies and their applications.
The Essentials – You Will Have
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required.

The Preferred – You Might Also Have
- 8+ years of experience in a related field.
- Industry experience in control system design, implementation, commissioning, and support with knowledge of current Rockwell Automation software products.
- Experience with a diverse set of technical and commercial aspects of automation control systems.
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology.
- Product knowledge and ability to work with a geographically dispersed team to achieve goals.
- Experience working with customers and defining customer problems.
- Must be able and willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
