Position : SEO & AI Optimization Strategist, part of the Global Communications and Corporate Marketing (GCCM) team within the Data, Analytics, Insights, Media and Experience (DAIME) Team.
The role focuses on boosting Medtronic’s content visibility in search results and AI-powered search experiences, and it involves cross-functional collaboration with content development, UX, digital experience, IT, corporate brand and analytics teams.
Responsibilities
- SEO Strategy & Implementation: Audit and optimize Medtronic’s global web properties for technical SEO, on-page SEO, and content performance.
Create standardized best practices across the Enterprise.
Develop and implement scalable SEO strategies across brand projects, product lines, regions, and business units.
Identify and resolve crawl issues, duplicate content, and site architecture inefficiencies.
- AI Search Optimization: Structure content for AI-readiness (e.g., featured snippets, voice search, Bing Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity).
Implement and manage structured data (schema.org) across key content types (products, FAQs, medical conditions).
Collaborate with content teams to create concise, semantically rich, machine-readable content.
- Analytics & Reporting: Monitor organic traffic trends, keyword rankings, and AI visibility metrics.
Use tools like Google Search Console, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and ChatGPT/Bard integrations to identify opportunities.
Present performance insights and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Competitive Benchmarking: Conduct regular audits of competitors to identify gaps and opportunities.
Develop SEO strategy for key brand and DTC launches to capture search share.
Stay ahead of search engine algorithm updates, AI search trends, and emerging platforms.
- Website Design: Assist in internal and external website design to align with omnichannel strategy for diverse audiences.
Lead scheduled maintenance on brand assets across experiences.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Fluent in English
- Five years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably at an agency, in healthcare, medtech, or regulated industries
- Proven success in reversing traffic declines and scaling enterprise SEO programs
- Deep understanding of structured data, semantic SEO, and AI search optimization
- Experience with enterprise CMS platforms (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager)
- Proven track record of successful website launches
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in SEO tools (e.g., Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, GA4, Adobe Analytics)
- Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript and relevant testing protocols
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in a Hybrid setting in Bogota
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance (e.g., FDA, HIPAA) in digital content
- Experience working with global teams and multilingual SEO
- Understanding of LLMs, generative AI, and their impact on search behavior
