Overview
This role is designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation to work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Leader in the Latam region, this is a highly technical role, providing post-sales remote and on-site support of Network products to end-customers in the Latam region.

Responsibilities
- The Network Engineer / Resident Engineer will develop and maintain expertise on the products deployed within the customer's network.
- Hold network information gathering workshops with the customer to understand their existing network design and technical requirements for new network deployments.
- Understand the customer’s organizational structure, become familiar with the customer's network implementation and support procedures, and help drive to the highest level of network availability and sustainability.
- Carry out testing of new designs, features, and functionality in laboratory environments and help develop implementation plans for proper operation in live production networks.
- Validate patches and fixes to operating software to ensure they are implemented and functioning correctly in pre-production and live networks.
- Troubleshoot equipment and network problems, initiate and track TAC cases through to problem resolution on pre and post-production issues.
- Track Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) through to problem resolution.
- Analyze network performance using tickets, root causes, correlation and trends; maintain network inventory and SW versions; assess risks in the client’s installed base.
- Produce written summary reports of the status of design projects, equipment, and network problems on a regular basis to the customer.
- Hold technology workshops with the customer to discuss equipment and network problems, provide case status updates, and share workarounds and/or solutions being tried.
- Assist the customer with development and documentation of Network Operation Procedures.
- Support production environment products within the customer infrastructure.
- Peer with other engineers to share lessons learned and minimize risk of major upgrades or changes.
- Develop secondary skills in other products in the portfolio.
Qualifications And Experience
- Engineering or equivalent degree with 8+ years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to speak and write in English and Spanish fluently.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to work with customer engineering and management across levels.
- Ability to work with the Juniper account team and Technical Assistance Center, engineering group.
- Capacity to function in a team environment and take direction from customers, account teams and the Service Delivery Leader; ability to produce detailed and executive reports.
- 7+ years of experience providing implementation and technical support of networking products in LAN, WAN, or Internet services environments.
- 7+ years of experience managing large technical account activity involving network products from multiple vendors.
- Experience with Service Providers in the Telco industry and fault isolation techniques.
- Hands-on operation of IP Routers, Switches and Firewalls; experience with management tools and network analyzers.
- Detailed understanding of IP networking protocols.
These Skills Should Generally Include
- TCP/IP fundamentals,
- IP subnetting and routing principles (OSPF, BGP),
- Routing policies at BGP peering points,
- VPNs and related tunneling technologies (L2TP, MPLS, etc.),
- Switching fundamentals including spanning tree; Firewalls and related technologies
- IPv6, Multicast, PIM and L3VPNs; EVPN, Segment Routing and Security
- JUNOS/JNC certifications are a plus; vendor certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) are a strong plus
- Primary Juniper platforms: MX, EX, ACX, PTX; Secondary: QFX, SRX, Junos Space
