Medical Assistant
Scope:
- Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm Mountain with an hour unpaid break
- Remote work arrangement
- Supporting a single psychiatry/mental health practice
- Working with multiple healthcare platforms and scheduling systems
- Handling administrative tasks that directly impact patient care and practice efficiency
Responsibilities:
- Take incoming phone calls and manage patient communications
- Schedule patient appointments across multiple booking platforms
- Respond to emails and handle patient correspondence
- Ensure all required paperwork is completed before patient appointments
- Complete various forms including school forms and FMLA documentation
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits
- Manage patient information across multiple platforms including Headway and ZocDoc
- Confirm patient payment methods and insurance status accuracy
- Coordinate administrative tasks to support seamless patient care
Requirements:
- Experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in mental health or psychiatry settings
- Proficiency with healthcare scheduling systems and patient management platforms
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and healthcare billing
- Strong communication skills for patient interactions
- Attention to detail for form completion and documentation
- Ability to multitask and manage administrative workflows efficiently
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality requirements
