Overview
We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join the Unconventional Resources Maintain Potential Projects Department (URMPPD).
The URMPPD is responsible for the tie-ins of more than 500 gas wells for the next two years across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a significant focus in the Jafurah area.
Your primary role is to be responsible for tie-ins of gas well projects and associated facilities, including pipeline, trunk line, flowlines (metallic and non-metallic), remote headers, overhead transmission line, and water disposal wells, safely, with high quality and optimized cost and schedule to maintain the company’s maximum sustainable gas output from Unconventional Resources (UR).
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Facilitate the execution of UR Maintain Potential Facilities from scope review and development to commissioning and post-completion analysis.
- Coordinate the review of scope content from Technical and Financial documents.
- Coordinate the preparation of estimates for Gas Well Tie-Ins and related facilities and ensure estimates have required accuracy.
- Guide the overall planning process and construction effort; monitor expenditures and perform cost and schedule control of assigned UR Facilities.
- Coordinate material procurement activities for long-lead and Aramco-supplied materials.
- Review significant aspects of UR Facilities under construction, including site visits.
- Ensure proper job records are maintained and facilitate post-project analysis.
- Coordinate preparation of required construction contracts, technical information, and other information required for award of construction contracts.
- Review bids for compliance with company policies, procedures, and scope or stated agreements.
- Ensure construction meets Saudi Aramco standards and specifications.
- Provide construction supervision to ensure safety and quality standards.
- Approve contract payments and variations within the approval authority.
- Monitor and control a system to ensure timely project start-up and appropriate spare parts requirements.
- Maintain project records including drawings, specifications, logs, project correspondence, and close-out reports.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Have 9+ years of experience related to design engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of engineered projects within the gas and/or oil industry.
- Engineering license is preferred.
- Have thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, US/Aramco codes, standards, and specifications.
- Be familiar with EPC systems and Primavera, among other tools.
