**How you will make an impact:**
Within our Clinical Research Group (CRG) an opportunity has arisen to manage and coordinates one or more accounting teams responsible for Latin America (LA) countries.
With a keen understanding of laws, regulations and compliance as well as reporting requirements consistent with USGAAP, this team uses innovative financial systems and controls, data security and robust processes to protect the company’s assets and support its short- and long-term growth on a global scale.
You will build relationships with internal and external audit teams as well as key business partners to drive sophisticated business decisions.
You will have an opportunity to build strong organizational alliances to understand and mitigate risk, as well as capture opportunities and provide valuable support to all business partners.
This role will ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and timely and accurate financial reporting.
In addition, the position holder will provide valuable decision support, identify and implement operational improvement opportunities and develop a strong finance team.
**What you will do:**
+ Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy and standard operating procedure; recommends changes to strengthen control environment.
+ Analyze and review monthly financial results for the LA region.
Assists in the preparation of month- end and year-end financial statements and consolidation packages as well as general control activities for LA region.
+ Works with accounting team to prepare quarterly accruals.
Completes monthly and quarterly consolidation packages.
Review monthly account reconciliations.
+ Research and recommend proper accounting treatment on technical accounting issues as they arise.
+ Plans and directs appropriate responses to audit inquiries and requests, including tax audits, internal and external audits (in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements).
+ Coordinate and review the statutory reporting in accordance with local regulations for LA countries, including reconciling to US GAAP books.
+ Coordinate and review monthly and annual tax reporting in accordance with local regulations which include but are not limited to VAT refunds, Transfer Pricing and Income Tax Return.
+ Liaise with internal departments: Clinical, Global Clinical Supplies, Feasibilities, Site Payments, Financial Planning and Analysis, Human Resources, Legal, Facilities, Procurement, Payroll, Treasury, Tax and Audit as the regional financial partner for various ad-hoc items.
+ Coordinate and review activities with shared service center teams.
+ Leader in resourcing talent and diversity, involved in all parts of the hiring and development process
+ Drive continuous improvement and uses systems to increase efficiency.
+ Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.

**Qualifications:**
**Education and Experience:**
**Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification**
**Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years) or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, & experience.**
**1+ year of leadership responsibility**
**Working Conditions and Environment:**
** Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.**
** Frequently drives to site locations and frequently travels both domestic and international.**
** Long, varied hours may be required.**
