This role blends technical excellence with people leadership—supervising, coaching, and empowering your team to achieve their highest potential while delivering scalable, functional solutions that meet project goals.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the team of programmers, providing technical guidance, support, and mentorship while ensuring the quality and consistency of delivered work through continuous feedback and leadership.
- Lead the professional development of the team through training, mentorship, ensuring their professional growth and alignment with the objectives of each role and the Studio.
- Define programming standards, processes, and best practices, based on existing code conventions and general area processes, to ensure an efficient workflow for the entire team under their supervision.
- Design and oversee the planning and scheduling of the project, ensuring proper task allocation and adherence to established deadlines while identifying and communicating potential risks.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between the different areas involved in project development to ensure efficient execution aligned with the project's vision.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks related to performance and optimization within the project.
- Address any complex bugs or issues that may arise during development, providing effective solutions.
- Conduct thorough game testing, considering it as a complete product, to identify, improve, and/or correct features within their area or other areas.
- Support different team members in AI, Physics, Gameplay, Combat, UI/UX, Audio, and Engine.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
- Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine, with a deep understanding of its Game Framework for both single-player and multiplayer projects.
- Proven experience leading programming teams of 4 to 12 members, fostering both technical excellence and professional growth.
- Solid track record in the video game industry, implementing key systems across projects.
- Experience working on video game projects from pre-production to launch, with multi-platform development (PC, consoles, and mobile).
- Strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
- Advanced expertise with tools and collaboration processes in game development, such as version control systems (Git & Perforce) and project management platforms.
