We’re seeking a Lead / Principal Data Analytics Consultant who can turn complex healthcare and medical claim data into clear, actionable insights — and help build the foundation for our growing analytics organization.
You’ll work across Power BI (DAX, Power Query, visuals), SQL, and Python to design scalable models and reports, then go beyond dashboards to interpret results, frame the story, and advise decision-makers.
This role is hands‑on today but designed for leadership .
You’ll take ownership of key client deliverables while mentoring and growing a high‑performing analytics team, including shaping the development of our new Colombian and Philippines delivery hubs .
Note : Due to the sensitive nature of the datasets we work with, this is a 100% in‑office position based in Colombia.
Because we work closely with U.S. healthcare clients and need rapid iteration on analytics deliverables, this role will work standard U.S. business hours (9 AM – 6 PM US Eastern Time).
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to define metrics, scope questions, and translate needs into analytical requirements.
- Design and maintain data models, queries, and ETL/Power Query steps for analytics and reporting.
- Build, publish, and govern Power BI semantic models and dashboards; optimize DAX for performance and usability.
- Implement advanced Power BI capabilities, including:
- Complex DAX measures and calculated tables for dynamic KPI logic.
- Row‑Level Security (RLS) and role‑based access controls.
- Data write‑back, alerts, and parameterized what‑if analyses .
- Composite models, DirectQuery, and incremental refresh for large healthcare datasets.
- Conduct exploratory analyses in SQL or Python (e.g., cohorting, segmentation, forecasting, regression).
- Translate analytical findings into clear narratives and recommendations that drive executive decisions.
- Establish documentation, QA checks, and data quality guardrails across projects.
- Create reusable analytics assets (measures, templates, queries) to accelerate delivery.
- Track and communicate KPIs, trends, and business drivers to stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor analysts, defining standards, onboarding plans, and workflows as we scale the teams.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve processes, shape strategy, and contribute to company growth.
Requirements
Experience & Technical Skills
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics or BI consulting, ideally within healthcare or other complex operational environments.
- Deep expertise in Power BI , including:
- Advanced DAX for time intelligence and conditional logic.
- Data modeling and schema design for large relational datasets.
- Row‑Level Security (RLS) and multi‑tenant governance.
- Write‑back and alerting solutions via Power Apps or Power Automate .
- Workspace governance, deployment pipelines, and dataset refresh strategies.
- Proven ability to design performant, visually compelling, and executive‑ready dashboards.
- Proficient in SQL and Python (pandas, statsmodels, scikit‑learn) for ad hoc analysis, data preparation, and model evaluation.
Analytical & Statistical Skills
- Experience applying inferential statistics (t‑tests, chi‑square, ANOVA) and experimental design (A/B, cohort, multivariate testing).
- Applied statistical modeling (regression, cohort analysis, survival analysis, variance decomposition) to uncover drivers of revenue and outcomes.
- While this is an analytics not ML role, practical familiarity with AutoML workflows, including feature preparation, model selection, and performance interpretation for churn, propensity, and time‑series models is a nice to have.
- Focused on business interpretability and ROI, not just predictive accuracy.
Business & Strategy Orientation
- Several years of experience defining KPIs and success metrics for growth, operations, or revenue cycle initiatives.
- Translated ambiguous business problems into structured analytic frameworks.
- Prioritized insights by ROI and presented findings to executive audiences.
- Thrives in entrepreneurial environments where processes and playbooks are still forming.
Leadership & Consulting Skills
- Experience leading client workshops or stakeholder sessions to define analytic needs.
- Managed cross‑functional projects with finance, operations, and IT to align analytics with business strategy.
- Communicates complex topics clearly across both technical and business audiences.
- High‑ownership mindset with a passion for building teams, systems, and scalable analytics capabilities.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
Strong communication and persuasion skills to drive trust and alignment.
