Join our team as a Lead Backend Developer, where you will play a key role in upgrading our core infrastructure by designing and implementing cloud-native microservices.

Responsibilities
- Develop backend microservices using Kotlin or Java to replace outdated system components
- Refactor and modernize tightly integrated legacy systems by resolving dependencies
- Deploy and maintain applications on Kubernetes clusters with Helm, ensuring reliability
- Collaborate with frontend teams to enhance API integration and support minor frontend updates
- Refine deployment methods including blue-green deployment to improve release processes
- Boost system observability by implementing custom metrics and instrumentation with DataDog
- Partner with platform teams to streamline infrastructure and deployment workflows
- Participate in pair programming activities to promote teamwork and quality code
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in backend development with cloud-native microservices
- At least 1 year of experience leading and managing development teams
- Proficient in Kotlin or Java for backend application development
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm with hands-on deployment experience
- Experience using CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions to support automated delivery
- Expertise in observability and monitoring using DataDog
- Familiarity with frontend technologies like React and TypeScript for API collaboration
- Ability to make sound decisions independently in ambiguous situations
- Flexibility to work during Central Time Zone hours and engage in pair programming
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills at B2 level or higher

- Experience with legacy enterprise systems like Hybris or similar monolith platforms
- Background collaborating with platform teams to optimize deployment tools
- Skill in identifying infrastructure improvements and providing actionable feedback
