What this role exists
We create ads that make the phone ring for roofers.
You’ll turn raw ideas and footage into scroll-stopping creative, edit content fast, and support campaign execution.
If you can edit content at a high level , you’re a #1-priority candidate—design skills matter, but content editing chops win.
Responsibilities (outcomes, not busywork)
- Produce ad creative: Design static graphics and short-form video for Meta/TikTok/YouTube/Display; iterate quickly based on performance data.
- Edit content end-to-end: Cut UGC, before/after, job-site clips; add captions, hooks, overlays, CTAs; ship multiple variations.
- Build offer/angle packs: Translate roofing value props (financing, storm damage, warranties, same-day inspection) into hooks, headlines, and visuals.
- Launch + maintain assets: Prep export specs, thumbnails, landing page hero graphics, and ad library organization.
- Brand standards: Create and maintain lightweight brand kits per client (logos, palettes, typography, truck/crew photos).
- Creative testing: Set up A/B creative matrices; document learnings; kill losers, scale winners.
- Light marketing ops: Assist with ad uploads, naming conventions, UTM hygiene, and creative calendars.
- Industry learning: Rapidly absorb what makes roofing ads work: seasonality, storm events, insurance language, compliance “do’s and don’ts.”
Must-have skills & experience
- 2–5+ years in graphic design and/or content editing (agency, in-house, or freelance).
Roofing/home services/renovation background strongly preferred.
- Editor-first: Premiere Pro, CapCut Pro, or Final Cut + After Effects basics.
Figma/Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop proficiency.
- Proven portfolio of direct-response creative (ads that sell, not just look pretty).
- Strong sense of hooks, pacing, and clarity ; understands attention economics for 3–30s ads.
- Comfortable working from raw, imperfect footage (phone clips, job-site audio) and making it look sharp.
- Solid copy instincts: headlines, overlays, lower-thirds, CTA placement.
- Organized: version control, file naming, and asset libraries.
Nice-to-haves
- Roofing/home services portfolio (before/after, crew, drone, hail/storm angles).
- UGC direction: writing briefs, coaching talent, shot lists.
- Basic landing page design (Figma/Webflow/Canva) and thumbnail optimization.
What success looks like (90-day scorecard)
- Ship 30–50 creative variations/month across clients (mix of video + static).
- Hit ≥ 3 winning creatives/month (defined as 20–40%+ lift in CTR/CVR vs.
control).
- Build/maintain client brand kits and a searchable asset library.
- Document a Creative Playbook for roofing offers, angles, and compliance.
KPIs you’ll own
- Thumb-stop / 3-sec view rate (shorts/reels).
- CTR on first-touch ads; CPL contribution for lead gen funnels.
- Creative velocity: variants shipped per week and on-time rate.
- Iteration speed: time from data insight → new variant live.
Tools we use
Adobe CC (Premiere/AE/PS/AI) or CapCut Pro, Figma, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, Meta Ads Library, Frame.io (or equivalent).
Work setup
Fully remote.
Standard working hours 9:00–5:00 PM Central (CDT) .
Occasional optional travel for content capture or team onsites.
Compensation
- $500–$1,000 per month (DOE) + performance bonus tied to creative wins.
- Benefits (if full-time): PTO, holidays, gear stipend, education budget.
- Growth path: Senior Creative → Creative Lead (own testing roadmap and junior designers).
