General Manager, New Business Unit – Toptal .
You will be the end-to-end owner of a new, high-impact business line, responsible for market positioning and strategy, establishing product-market fit, profitability, and scalable operations.
This is a remote position.

Responsibilities
- Own the business P&L and drive revenue growth, pipeline health, and gross margin.
- Balance top-line growth with operational efficiency by optimizing supply and demand.
- Work with Executive and Senior Leadership to align the business with Toptal’s broader growth goals and uphold the Toptal brand.
- Develop and test new offerings with clients, using feedback to quickly achieve product-market fit.
- Partner with Marketing and Talent Operations to ensure the right talent and solutions are available to deliver on demand to clients.
- Engage with clients as a trusted business partner and collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Sales.
- Establish robust analytics and feedback loops to continuously refine the initial strategy and improve performance.
- Maintain a strong, proactive leadership presence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience driving and managing a business with strong operations and management principles.
- 3+ years of P&L ownership.
- Experience in a professional services organization and driving business growth.
- Demonstrated success in building and launching a new business or product offering from scratch, or equivalent entrepreneurial experience.
- Experience at a technology or hyper-growth company is strongly preferred.
- Management consulting (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG) or investment banking experience is preferred but not required.
- Leadership experience with responsibility for business results in a fast-paced, multi-function environment.
- Strong relationship development and leadership skills with a track record of building credibility across the organization.
- Experience with marketing technology and automation, including familiarity with marketing platforms and CRMs.
- Strong analytical abilities and a proven track record of delivering results in ambiguous, complex projects.
- Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of market needs and business goals.
- Solid command of P&L and financial metrics.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work with stakeholders from executives to individual contributors.
- Excellent organizational and detail-oriented capabilities; ability to prioritize execution and mentor others.
- Adaptable to changing priorities and comfortable building consensus across senior stakeholders.
- Ownership mindset and accountability for personal and team success.
