The Director of Engineering leads the engineering department, overseeing the planning, development, and execution of technical strategies.
This role is responsible for managing engineering teams, aligning technical goals with business objectives, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products or solutions.
The Engineering Director plays a key leadership role in scaling teams, optimizing processes, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Some of the assigned tasks you will have are:
Lead and mentor engineering managers, technical leads, and development teams across multiple projects.
Oversee architectural decisions, technical standards, and software quality practices.
Collaborate with product, design, and other departments to ensure alignment and delivery of features on time and within scope.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate team performance and delivery efficiency.
Manage engineering budgets, resource planning, and vendor relationships.
Champion best practices in software development, DevOps, and agile methodologies.
Drive recruitment, retention, and professional development of top engineering talent.
Ensure security, scalability, and maintainability of systems and platforms.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
Proven experience managing large-scale engineering teams and complex projects.
Deep understanding of software development lifecycle, architecture, and agile methodologies.
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical involvement.
