Job Description

We are seeking for an experienced Electrical Engineer V to join our Electrical Engineering team in Bogota, Colombia.

This role will be pivotal in designing electrical circuits, systems, and equipment, with a particular focus on power systems, electric service and supply systems, and lighting systems.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Electrical Installations Design: Designing, planning and coordinating electrical systems for various types of infrastructure.
  
  
• Electrical Calculations: Perform detailed electrical calculations for installations such as power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, and electrical studies.
  
  
• Specialized Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth technical input for studies, designs, and technical assessments within the electrical engineering field.
  
  
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in interdisciplinary project reviews to ensure cohesive and fully integrated designs.
  
  
• Quality Control: Conduct quality control reviews of electrical designs, calculations, and drawings to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability.
  
  
• Technical Specifications: Prepare and manage technical specification sections related to electrical systems, ensuring they meet project requirements.
  
  
• Budget and Schedule Management: Assist in the preparation of engineering budgets and schedules to align with project goal
• Lead designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, construction specifications, and final working drawings.
  
  
• Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.
  
  
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  
  
• Approves and signs off on work.
  
  
• Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
  
  
• Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
  
  
• Participates in development of technical proposals.
  
  
• Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
  
  
• Lead a team of Modelers and Electrical Engineers.
  
  
• Guarantee the quality of the electrical team's deliverables.
  
  
• Manage client relationships and communications.
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering + 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Experience in developing Medium Voltage and High Voltage drawings, quantities list, specifications and reports in accordance with project requirements and industry standards (IEC/IEEE/ANSI).
  
  
• Experience in Medium Voltage and Low Voltage systems, power utilities systems
• Experience performing early project design work such as conceptual studies, electrical loads, equipment sizing and selection, datasheets, and general arrangements.
  
  
• Proficiency with at least one engineering software.
  
  
• Knowledge of local and international American and European regulations.
  
  
• Intermediate/ Advanced command of English, both written and spoken.
  
  

Additional Information

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering +10 years of experience.
  
  
• Experience with Revit to create 3D BIM models of electrical systems, adhering to all Levels of Development (LOD).
  
  
• Experience working with Common Data Environment platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ACC).
  
  
• Must be resourceful, highly organized, professional with attention to detail and people.
  
  
• Familiarity with clash detection software.

• Experience with renewable energy
• Experience in projects such as water treatment facilities, industrial installations, transportation, buildings and utilities.
