Overview
Electrical Engineering IV role at AECOM in Bogota, Colombia.
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer IV to join our Electrical Engineering team.
This role will be pivotal in designing electrical circuits, systems, and equipment, with a focus on power systems, electric service and supply systems, and lighting systems.
Responsibilities
- Electrical Installations Design: Designing, planning and coordination of electrical systems for various types of infrastructure.
- Electrical Calculations: Perform detailed electrical calculations for installations such as power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, and electrical studies.
- Specialized Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth technical input for studies, designs, and technical assessments within the electrical engineering field.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in interdisciplinary project reviews to ensure cohesive and fully integrated designs.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality control reviews of electrical designs, calculations, and drawings to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability.
- Technical Specifications: Prepare and manage technical specification sections related to electrical systems, ensuring they meet project requirements.
- Budget and Schedule Management: Assist in the preparation of engineering budgets and schedules to align with project goals.
- Lead designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, construction specifications, and final working drawings.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 6+ years of professional experience in electrical design for electrical projects.
- Experience in developing Medium Voltage and High Voltage drawings, quantities lists, specifications and reports in accordance with project requirements and industry standards (IEC/IEEE/ANSI).
- Experience in Medium Voltage and Low Voltage systems, power utility systems.
- Experience performing early project design work such as conceptual studies, electrical loads, equipment sizing and selection, datasheets, and general arrangements.
- Proficiency with at least one engineering software.
- Knowledge of local and international American and European regulations.
- Intermediate/Advanced command of English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience.
- Experience with Revit to create 3D BIM models of electrical systems, adhering to all Levels of Development (LOD).
- Experience working with Common Data Environment platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ACC).
- Must be resourceful, highly organized, professional with attention to detail and people skills.
- Familiarity with clash detection software (Navisworks).
- Experience with renewable energy.
- Experience in projects such as water treatment facilities, industrial installations, transportation, buildings and utilities.
