Position overview

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to lead this optimization effort, ensuring data integrity, system reliability, and peak performance across the entire data ecosystem.

Technology stack

  • Database technologies: Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle Database
  • Data analytics platforms: Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense
  • Low-code platforms: OutSystems, Mendix, or Microsoft Power Apps
  • Cloud infrastructure: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Backup and recovery tools: native DBMS tools and third-party solutions (e.g., Veeam, Rubrik)

Responsibilities

  • Manage, configure, and optimize databases supporting the data analytics platform and low-code applications
  • Develop and maintain database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans to ensure data availability and integrity
  • Monitor database health, performance metrics, and capacity; proactively plan for scaling and growth
  • Collaborate with development and analytics teams to support integration of databases with low-code solutions and visualization tools
  • Implement and maintain robust data security measures, including access controls, encryption, and audit logging
  • Conduct routine database maintenance, including patching, indexing, and upgrading systems with minimal downtime
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution to avoid business disruption
  • Manage user permissions, authentication protocols, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Document database configurations, processes, and procedures to support team knowledge sharing and auditing

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role managing complex database environments
  • Strong knowledge of database management, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Familiarity with low-code platforms and integration with data analytics tools is a plus
  • Experience working with cloud-based database infrastructure and tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Nice to have

  • Understanding of data privacy regulations and security best practices
  • Experience with performance tuning and monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation for database management tasks
