Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced
Data Engineer
to design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions.
This role involves developing and maintaining data pipelines, integrating diverse data sources, and ensuring data quality, consistency, and security.
You will work with modern data platforms and tools such as Java, Golang, Snowflake, Postgres, Iceberg, Hadoop, Hive, Cassandra, Pig, and BI platforms like Domo.
The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in data engineering, including building large-scale data structures, complex ETL processes, and real-time and offline analytic pipelines, and is passionate about delivering reliable, high-quality data that empowers business insights and decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (degree not required if equivalent hands-on experience is demonstrated).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience coding in
SQL/PLSQL
and working with databases such as Postgres, Mongo, Couchbase.
- Experience working with
S3 buckets and Iceberg - 5+ years of experience with BI tools such as
Domo
or
Tableau.
- Strong hands-on coding skills in
Golang, JavaScript, Python
, with proficiency in
Docker
and
shell scripting
.
- Experience with
Debezium
or equivalent Change Data Capture (CDC) tools.
- 2+ years of experience with
Kafka
and
Snowflake/SnowPipe
.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in
data modeling
within massively parallel processing (MPP) databases such as Snowflake.
- Preferred familiarity with JSON data structures, microservices architecture, and Agile methodologies.
- Ecommerce domain experience
is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Create and engineer data pipelines for end-to-end delivery of raw and streamed datasets from cloud platforms into data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- Perform data modeling to enable efficient use of the data warehouse and ensure high availability of operational reports and dashboards.
- Design and build dashboards and reports in tools such as Domo or Tableau based on business requirements.
- Implement and manage production support processes across the data lifecycle, including data governance, master data management, data quality, coding utilities, storage, reporting, and other integration points.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, platform development teams, and data/research scientists to deliver data-driven solutions that support business outcomes and drive the growth of the Yum platform and the brands it serves.
- Participate in and lead design sessions, demos, prototype reviews, testing, and training workshops with business users and IT teams.
