About the Role
We're seeking a skilled
Data Engineer
to support our product and technology team.
In this role, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, analyzing data, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
You'll be the
first and only dedicated data analytics team member
, so we're looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who is comfortable operating independently, defining structure, and solving complex data challenges.
What You'll Do
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
Clean, validate, and structure raw data from various sources to ensure data quality and usability
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support business decision-making
Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key performance metrics to stakeholders
Work cross-functionally with teams (e.g., finance, operations, marketing) to define data needs and solve business problems using data
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand and meet data requirements
Develop data models and schemas for analytics and reporting
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability
Support the design and implementation of a modern data warehouse architecture
Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices are followed
Work with third-party APIs and internal tools to extract, transform, and load data
Demonstrate an entrepreneurial, self-starter attitude as the inaugural data analytics hire
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field
Proficiency in SQL and experience with Python or another scripting language
Experience analyzing large datasets and generating insights that drive business impact
Familiarity with dashboarding and analytics platforms such as Mode, Power BI, or similar
Hands-on experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Fivetran) and data pipeline orchestration
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
Nice to Have
Experience in SaaS or B2B software environments
Exposure to finance or accounting domains
