Responsibilities
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Work collaboratively within a team of security professionals and across the organization in matters of security, logging, and custody of security events and troubleshooting.
- Respond to incidents; resolve, triage, or elevate as appropriate to meet and exceed SLA metrics.
- Support and maintain key production systems, ensuring 7/24 availability.
- Document and keep comprehensive records of log sources, configurations, analysis procedures, troubleshooting, and incident reports.
- Provide input to management reporting including executive summaries, condition status reporting, statistics, and action item tracking.
- Knowledge of various operating systems such as Linux, Windows, AIX, AS400 and so on.
- Familiarity with the specific cloud platforms the organization uses (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure) and their logging and monitoring services.
- Understanding of network protocols and the ability to analyze network logs, such as firewall, IDS/IPS, and DNS logs.
OSI Model understanding.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) to automate log parsing, analysis, and response activities.
- Knowledge of Office 365 tools (Power Automate, SharePoint, Planner…)
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as PowerBI, Looker, Anaconda.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- University degree or college diploma in a computer‑related discipline.
- Operating System Knowledge: familiarity with various operating systems such as Linux, Windows, AIX, AS400 and so on.
- Familiarity with the specific cloud platforms the organization uses (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their logging and monitoring services.
