We are seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney with a strong background in U.S. law to join our client, a forward-thinking remote legal practice.
As a Criminal Defense Attorney, you will provide expert legal representation to clients charged with criminal offenses, defending clients effectively while protecting their rights throughout the legal process.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in criminal cases, from initial consultations through trials and appeals
- Conduct thorough legal research and prepare legal documents, including motions and briefs
- Develop defense strategies tailored to each client's case
- Communicate directly with clients, keeping them informed about case progress and legal options
- Negotiate plea agreements and settlements with prosecutors
- Attend court hearings and provide strong advocacy for clients
- Remain up-to-date on changes in criminal law and relevant legal precedents
- Collaborate with other legal professionals to enhance client representation
- Maintain case files and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete
Requirements
- Jurisdictional legal license to practice law in the U.S., with experience in criminal defense
- Proven track record of representing clients in criminal cases
- Strong understanding of U.S. criminal law and procedures
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Experience handling cases remotely is a plus
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple cases
- Commitment to client confidentiality and ethical standards
- Up-to-date resume along with relevant legal experience
