Mercor is seeking a dynamic Community Manager to design, launch, and scale a hybrid in-person and online events program for our expert community.
You will own the strategy and execution of networking events, hackathons, and large-scale summits, initially in the U.S., with plans to expand globally.
This cross-functional and external-facing role is ideal for a builder passionate about operations, community, and creating exceptional experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end event operations , including strategy, budgeting, logistics, venue coordination, vendor relations, and contingency planning.
- Design tailored event formats for diverse expert segments, such as clinicians, AI researchers, and legal professionals.
- Build scalable community programs , including playbooks, hosted meetups, and ambassador initiatives.
- Lead marketing efforts to drive audience growth: manage landing pages, email/SMS campaigns, social media, partnerships, and press outreach.
- Curate engaging content by recruiting speakers, moderating sessions, and repurposing event highlights into shareable assets.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams for event integration and scaling.
- Develop partnerships with universities, professional societies, and conferences to co-host programming.
About You
- Experienced organizer of complex, large-scale events , with hands‑on attention to detail from contracts to speaker prep.
- Community‑driven with strong emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, and comfort both on stage and one‑on‑one.
- Tech and AI literate , staying current on industry trends.
- Marketing savvy , with practical campaign and social media experience.
- Data‑driven , defining success metrics upfront and iterating based on analytics.
- Proven self‑starter with a history of building communities, companies, or large initiatives from the ground up.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degrees in Business, Marketing, or related fields are a plus.
Bonus Points
- Experience engaging professional or academic audiences such as physicians, lawyers, senior engineers, or graduate students.
- Established online or offline community following.
- Comfortable with public speaking and on‑camera presentations.
- Familiarity with tools like Circle, Airtable, Notion, Figma, Eventbrite, Luma, Splash, HubSpot, Marketo , and analytics dashboards.
