Responsibilities
- API Integration and Maintenance: Implement and maintain assigned integrations for APIs to connect WordPress sites, web applications, and external systems.
- Web application design and build: utilizing data feeds and services available via API’s to deliver solutions on WordPress sites.
- Web Application Back‑End Execution: Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot back‑end tasks for web applications using client‑provided frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, or PHP).
- Database Management and Optimization: Execute database tasks, including query optimization, data imports/exports, and updates as per client instructions.
- Custom Plugin and Theme Adjustments: Modify or create WordPress plugins and themes based on detailed client specifications, adhering to WordPress coding standards.
- Code Optimization and Maintenance: Refactor and maintain PHP‑based code to enhance performance, scalability, and adherence to WordPress best practices.
- Version Control and Code Management: Use Git or other version control tools to manage and track code changes according to client workflows.
- Collaborative Task Execution: Work with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or Clickup to update progress, track assigned tasks, and ensure timely delivery.
- Quality Assurance and Testing: Conduct functional testing for back‑end processes and APIs based on client‑provided test cases and acceptance criteria.
Requirements
- Add data feeds to a WordPress site – Widget integration.
- Programmatic page builds – created dynamically with data feed APIs.
- SSO solutions.
- Strong knowledge of PHP, WordPress architecture, and coding standards.
- Hands‑on experience with API integrations.
- Proficiency in database management with MySQL, including query optimization.
- Familiarity with back‑end frameworks such as Node.js or Python is a necessity.
- Proficiency in version control systems like Git.
- Experience working with task and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Clickup.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex back‑end issues.
- Knowledge of best practices for security, scalability, and performance.
- Proven experience as a WordPress Back‑End Developer or similar role.
