Azure Cloud Backup Infrastructure Engineer

About the role
You will provide advanced technical expertise for Azure Cloud backup infrastructure, ensuring service stability and operational excellence.
You’ll support design, implementation, and automation of backup solutions, aiming for 100% backup success and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design and support Azure cloud backup infrastructure according to business needs.
- Participate in Azure cloud transformation projects from requirements gathering to design, implementation, testing, documentation, and support.
- Work with Infrastructure as Code to automate cloud backup solutions.
- Collaborate with backup architects to contribute to future solutions.
- Maintain on-premise backup components to ensure compliance (PCI DSS), security, performance, and flexibility.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call support for backup services.
- Drive automation to maximize industrialization of backup processes.
- Provide support in incident and problem management related to backup services and infrastructure.
- Support the definition and maintenance of backup service standards and component catalogues.
- Manage capacity pools and provisioning processes (hardware and software).
- Build technical forums to engage a globally distributed team.
- Support both production and development teams with backup services.
- Manage and/or support projects related to backup topics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and providers.
- Foster continuous improvement as part of daily work.
- Understand internal and external customer needs and translate them into services.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required; higher education preferred.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in backup infrastructure or similar business.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex ideas to peers and management.
- Demonstrated ability to share technical expertise and foster continuous learning.
- Adaptability, flexibility, and a customer-focused, team-oriented mindset.
- Innovative, proactive, and autonomous approach.
- Experience working in multicultural environments.
- Technical skills: Azure backup, Microsoft Azure, ServiceNow, scripting (PowerShell, Python, Ansible), Terraform, storage, SRE/DevOps.
- Good communication in English and Spanish.
