The role of a Contractor Logistics Support Specialist is to provide logistics support and coordination for a CLS program in the following areas: supply and distribution; maintenance and software support; component rebuild or overhaul; and materiel support.
Additionally, the specialist will understand the entire life cycle of a product, to include the acquisition, distribution, allocation, and delivery.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide logistic support such as providing engineering support, identifying requirements for spare and repair parts, facilities, materiel, and equipment, in support of personnel performing maintenance, training, and upkeep on delivered simulator training systems.
- Sourcing and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts and costs, managing the purchase of goods and services (national and international), ensuring timely and high-quality deliveries, tracking inventory, analyzing market trends, and maintaining vendor relationships to achieve cost-efficiency and strategic goals.
- Perform logistics provisioning and documentation research and analyses providing recommendations and/or deliverable products supporting contractual logistics requirements.
- Create standard operating procedures and work instructions related to assigned duties.
- Interface with Logistics Manager, Program Managers, Project Engineers and other design/system engineers.
- Create requisitions for required components in support of CLS sites.
- Monitor procurement processes / activities to ensure expeditious processing of material.
- Track material through procurement process from program request through delivery to site.
- Coordinate with Trade Compliance for shipping documentation data required for international shipments.
- Display good judgment and creativity in solving complex logistics technical problems and provide detailed recommendations.
- Oversee the implementation of CMMS database for CLS sites, ensuring technical and training support in the areas of training system maintenance, creation of work orders, asset tracking information, inventory, and preventative maintenance scheduling.
- Focus on identifying, mitigating, and managing the risks of parts and components becoming obsolete, ensuring continued system supportability and minimizing costs.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- 1-3 years’ experience in Logistics or a related technical field.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
- English Advanced.
- Knowledge in Oracle.
- Import / Export experience.
