- Installation and Configuration: Setting up AIX on servers, configuring system parameters, and ensuring proper integration with hardware components.
- System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitoring system performance, resource usage, and responding to alerts or system failures. This includes applying patches, updates, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
- User Management: Creating and managing user accounts, setting permissions, and ensuring security protocols are in place.
- Storage Management: Managing disk storage, configuring filesystems, and ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Backup and Recovery: Implementing backup solutions, scheduling regular backups, and testing recovery procedures to ensure data protection and business continuity.
- Network Administration: Configuring network interfaces, managing network settings, and troubleshooting network-related issues.
- Security: Implementing security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls to protect against unauthorized access and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Performance Optimization: Tuning system parameters, optimizing resource usage, and identifying opportunities for performance improvements.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Generating reports on system performance, usage trends, and security incidents.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with other IT teams, such as application developers, database administrators, and network engineers, to ensure seamless integration and support of business-critical applications and services.

You will be successful in this role if you have:
- 4 – 6 years of proficiency in AIX administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- 4 – 6 years of strong understanding of Unix/Linux fundamentals, including shell scripting, file systems, and system utilities.
- 2- 3 years of experience with AIX performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- 2 -3 years of knowledge of AIX security best practices, including user management, access controls, and security auditing.
- 2 -3 years of understanding of storage concepts and experience with AIX storage management tools.
- 2 -3 years of knowledge of backup and recovery solutions for AIX systems.
