Black Maple Trading – Web Developer

Position Overview We’re seeking a highly skilled Web Developer with proven experience in high-converting eCommerce apparel and merchandise websites.

The ideal candidate is fluent in Shopify Plus or advanced Shopify development, understands multi‑country infrastructure, and can seamlessly connect our stores to advanced marketing tools like ActiveCampaign, bundle/deal apps, and analytics systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize Shopify (or Shopify Plus) eCommerce websites for multiple countries with unique products, currencies, and promotional offerings.

  • Implement multi‑store strategies, including localized content, pricing, language, and tax/shipping rules.

  • Update and manage country‑specific product offerings to ensure accurate pricing, taxes, and promotions.

  • Build, modify, and maintain Shopify stores and themes, custom or theme‑based.

  • Integrate advanced apps for bundles, cross‑sells, upsells, discounts, and promotional deals.

  • Connect and sync data with key marketing tools (ActiveCampaign, Klaviyo, GTM, Meta Pixel, GA4).

  • Develop custom code to enhance functionality, user experience, and conversion performance.

  • Configure or customize existing Shopify apps when off‑the‑shelf options require adaptation.

  • Optimize product sales conversion using dynamic product features and A/B testing.

  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders in a fast‑paced retail environment, reporting to the international CMO.

  • Understand both eCommerce B2C retail and B2B service websites for high conversion to sales.

  • Translate creative and campaign ideas into high‑performing web experiences.

  • Support web design and theme development using Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools.

  • Maintain data integrity across multi‑country stores and integrations (inventory, customers, orders).

  • Stay current on best‑in‑class Shopify tools, APIs, and conversion strategies for apparel and lifestyle brands.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of professional CSS experience (preferred).

  • 5+ years of professional Shopify or Shopify Plus development experience (required).

  • Proven record of building high‑converting apparel, merch, or DTC eCommerce and B2B websites that support sales and enhance the client user experience.

  • Experience with Shopify APIs, custom code, and app integrations.

  • Strong understanding of multi‑store / multi‑country setups (currencies, languages, tax, fulfillment).

  • Familiarity with leading Shopify apps for bundles, upsells, subscriptions, and loyalty programs.

  • Knowledge of ActiveCampaign, Klaviyo, or similar automation/CRM tools.

  • Comfort connecting marketing and analytics platforms (GA4, Meta, TikTok Ads, Pinterest, etc.).

  • Experience with design/prototyping tools (Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator).

    Bilingual English / Spanish (full‑time communication).

  • Detail‑oriented, organized, proactive problem‑solver.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong debugging and performance optimization skills, with focus on scalability and UX.

  • Independent willingness to work in fast‑moving cross‑functional teams.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration with non‑technical teams.

Nice‑to‑Have

  • Experience in fashion/apparel eCommerce or licensed merch brands.

  • Knowledge of custom APIs, headless Shopify, or Hydrogen/React development.

  • Experience implementing AI‑driven product recommendations or personalized offers.

  • Comfort working in Agile environments or small, fast‑moving marketing teams.
